Baby Hudson's Arrival

On the night of November 21, 2009 while watching my Oregon Ducks play against the Arizona Wildcats...in double overtime, I jokingly told Kyle the game was going to send me into labor...it was nail biting and soooooo exciting! Sure enough one hour later while getting ready for bed......my water broke!!!!!!
Being the very prepared nurse that I am, I tested my fluid with the pH paper that I brought home from work and yes it turned blue....spontaneous rupture of membranes at 10:30pm, but no contraction pain!!!! After speaking with the doctor on call for Dr. Lollar Kyle and I said goodbye to Stella, tucked her away in her house for the night and headed to the hospital. The moment we have been waiting for was finally here and we were both totally nervous!
After a very long induction into labor Hudson Alexander Cole Beard made his big debut at 8:32 pm on Sunday November 22, 2009! The delivery room was filled with joyful tears and bursting with love for this little dude! Welcome to this beautiful world little man, we love you so much!!!!!

37 1/2 weeks and counting.....it's hard to believe we could meet this baby boy anyday!!! At times I feel like a ticking time bomb, wondering if and when my water will break, or if walking Stella or vacuuming will throw me into labor! Yes, even L & D nurses wonder these crazy thoughts!

To help pass the time this weekend Kyle and I put the finishing touches on the nursery....with grandma's help. The window treatment is handmade with love, and it turned out great! Thanks mom.....I love it. Ah, it's a good feeling to have the nursery project done, even if this little dude won't be sleeping in there for a few weeks....at least it's done!

We are slowly but surely preparing the nursey for our little man's arrival....still not finished...but almost! Just the finishing touches left to do. I hope he likes all the bright colors:)

What a big year it's been for Kyle and I.....where do I start? Last December we finally moved into a rental we can call home in Pleasant Hill, California. After unpacking and settling into the new place, Kyle and I waited about one week and quickly found the perfect family dog or should I say "bag of droll" to add to the family. Her name is Stella...Stella the Bloodhound. Stella has been a great dog so far, despite the chewing and digging and intense nose that gets her into trouble! She enjoys long walks, car rides, trips to the local dog parks, playing with her laborador cousins and sleeping....lots of sleeping!

As soon as the puppy phase was just about over....Kyle and I learned that we would be entering into a whole new phase...the baby phase. Yes thats right, I am PREGGERS and we are anxiously awaiting his arrival in early December. The offical due date is December 5th. Seven and a half weeks to go!!!

I really can't complain too much about this pregnancy so far. The first trimester was the worst but after the nausea and extreme sleepiness, the second trimester and beginning of the third has been great! Just your normal aches and pains and numerous trips to the bathroom. The nursery is coming along...pictures will be posted soon, promise! I'm still working at the hospital and plan on working until I am 36 weeks pregnant....almost there.

Speaking of work...Kyle's still on the hunt for a new job! Last May his boss decided to retire and close the doors to her wholesale craft company. Bad timing with this economy...but what are we going to do. It's actually been nice having him home. I know Stella's loving it! We'll see what's next in Kyle's career path.

Fall is officially here and I welcome the change in weather with open arms. I love this time of year...big comfy sweaters, the change in colors around the neighborhood, and all the yummy smells!!! The nesting phase has set in BIG time and we are quickly getting our home ready for baby. We can't wait to meet this little dude!
